What does it mean to stop selling gift cards?
The official announcement concerns the sale of gift cards; it does not claim that all previously released codes immediately stopped working. At the same time, this does not confirm the validity of any offer on a third-party site.
Before paying, ask for a clear description: Is this a previously purchased gift card, promotional code, or other product? When does his term end? Which accounts are suitable? If the seller cannot explain the differences, it is better to stop before purchasing. The old review with the universal advice "buy any Spotify card" is no longer sufficient.

What to ask a friend without revealing your password
It is enough to find out the country of the account and the name of the plan. Your friend can view this information on their account page. You don't need a password, email access or backup codes. When in doubt, ask for a screenshot of only the plan name and country, hiding the rest of the data.
Do not confuse the application language with the profile country. Spotify associates region with location and service availability; changing the country for a random code is not a universal activation method. If the conditions are incompatible, choose another gift.

Check offer conditions in Unlimit
The Spotify page provides options for codes delivered by email. Before purchasing, please check your selection with Spotify's current policies to ensure that it applies to an active subscription. For a gift, it is convenient to receive the code by email, and then give it to a friend at the right time. However, do not activate it “for verification”: a redeemed code cannot be awarded again. How a friend activates a compatible code
The recipient must open the official Spotify page themselves and check which account they are logged in with. The full code is given only to him, and not published in a general greeting card.

Log in to the desired account and check its country and plan.
Enter the code, view the result and confirm the redemption.
Check subscription page and next payment date.
If a failure occurs, save the error text and check the conditions before retrying.
Do not promise a friend a specific number of months only at monetary value. The result must comply with the code conditions and Spotify confirmation.

If the gift is not suitable
If there is a regional error, check the profile country and code. If there is a plan error, compare it with the terms of the card: Family, Duo, Student, Basic, trial offers and additional services may not allow this method. Do not cancel your family subscription without the consent of its owner.
If you did not receive the code or the seller indicated incorrect conditions, contact him with your order number. If Spotify has already accepted the code and the deadline is unclear, check your subscription details and contact Spotify support. Do not give your password to a person who promises to correct the error by logging into your account.
