Difference between plans
Individual is suitable for one user. Duo is designed for two people, Family - for several accounts in a family, Student requires confirmation of student status.
A major mistake is purchasing a group plan without understanding the shared address requirement.
| Plan | For whom | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Individual | One listener | Email and account country |
| Duo | Two users | One residential address |
| Family | Family | Address and accounts of participants |
| Student | Student | Status confirmation |
02
Account country and availability
Spotify uses account country for service availability, pricing, and payment methods. If your account has moved between countries, you should check your profile before purchasing.
For gifts and codes, it is also important that the format suits the account region.
03
What to check before paying
Check your account email, current Premium status, subscription expiration date, and whether your account is already connected to Duo or Family.
If you are buying for someone, please specify the Spotify account, and not just the contact email.
Account email is correct.
The plan is selected for the scenario.
The current subscription and renewal date have been verified.
04
When is a code better, and when is a direct extension
According to Spotify rules, a gift code can be applied to Premium Individual; It is not suitable for Duo, Family, Student, trial period and some other plans. The account country must match the country where the code was purchased.
If you have a different plan or are in doubt about your account country, first check your account status on the Spotify page. Select a code only after checking the compatibility of a particular option.
