Check the region before trying again
OpenAI publishes a list of supported countries and warns of the risk of account restrictions when used outside of it. A foreign bank card in itself does not make use from Russia supported. You should not pay for several “error solutions” without understanding this condition.
If you live in a supported country, please also check the country where the card was issued. If the region is correct, further diagnostics make sense; In an unsupported region, clearing cookies and re-writing them does not solve the original problem.

How to distinguish a bank refusal from a subscription error
See the exact message on the screen and the bank's transaction history. Check with your bank to see if international and regular online payments are allowed. Check your billing address, card expiration date, and verification process. Do not send the full card number or CVV to store support.

Don't create two subscriptions instead of one
Check your ChatGPT settings and your Apple or Google subscription list. If you already pay through a mobile store, a new purchase on the site should not be used as a way to “fix” the old one without verification: separate payments are possible.
Unlimit offers require a personal account without an active paid subscription; deadlines are not cumulative. Canceling auto renewal does not mean the end of the paid period. Wait for your account to return to Free if required by the selected offer.

What happens when you purchase Plus in Unlimit
This is a separate method of purchasing from an independent service. For new Go and Plus orders, an activation code and link are issued after payment; Please see your order for the current address. Unlimit is not OpenAI, and such a code does not need to be entered into the official OpenAI gift card field.
Read the terms and conditions of the Plus you choose and check that there is no active paid plan.
Enter an available contact email and pay for the completed order.
Receive the code and link on the order page or in an email.
Study the activation instructions and complete it only after checking the address and requested data.
Open your ChatGPT account and make sure the correct plan is connected.
If activation requests an account session, this is sensitive data that gives access to it. Not asking for a password does not make the session transfer risk-free. Do not publish it or send it in support correspondence.

OpenAI Gift Card and Vendor Code are not the same thing
According to the current OpenAI help, official gift cards are available for purchase and redemption only in the USA, for eligible accounts with settlements in USD. They fund their wallet on the ChatGPT website and do not pay for subscriptions through Apple or Google. This is not a universal payment method from Russia.
If the supplier code has been issued, but the plan has not changed, save the order number and the exact text of the activation error. The status of a completed order with a code confirms its issuance.
