When to prepare and where to check dates
Valve publishes a calendar of seasonal sales on Steamworks. On October 26, 2026, the winter sale is scheduled from December 17 to January 4. Thematic promotions are available separately: see the end of the discount for a specific game on its page.
Practical reserve - complete verification of your account and top-up method a day or two before the desired purchase. This is a planning recommendation and not a promise of delivery time. If the promotion is already ending, assess the risk of delay before payment.

Wish list and budget first
Open Steam using your account. For each game, check the buy button, system requirements, language, edition you want, and whether the base game is required for DLC. Add the items you are interested in to your wishlist, but do not consider a discount that has not yet been announced as guaranteed.
Budget example: you are prepared to spend 3,000 rubles on three games and already have 400 rubles in your wallet. You need another 2,600 rubles, but the amount paid to the seller may differ because of the top-up terms. Compare the amount expected to reach your wallet with your budget, not just the number on the payment button.

How to top up Steam from Russia using login
The Unlimit page uses direct deposit to the wallet. Don't look for a letter with a gift code for such an order: this is a different product format. Take your login from your account details; a nickname in the community may coincide with someone else’s and does not replace the login name.

Open your Steam account details and check your login, store country and currency.
On the top-up page, enter your login and amount; Read the form restrictions for your account.
Check the contact details and total cost, then pay the created invoice.
Wait for the top-up confirmation and check your wallet in Steam itself.
Save the order number until you confirm that the money has been received.

Why region and currency remain important
Store country is visible in account data. According to Steam rules, it is changed upon actual relocation with a suitable local payment method. Activating a code or depositing money does not change the country in itself.
If the game page came from someone else's regional store, open it again through the client under your account. Do not expect that the foreign price from the search results will be applied at checkout. For a gift card, currency compatibility is checked separately; The conditions for direct top-up are viewed in the form of the selected service.

If the money has not yet appeared or the discount has ended
Refresh the wallet page, restart the client and make sure that you are looking at the account whose login you specified. Compare the status of the banking transaction with the status of the order: a debit from the bank does not yet confirm credit to Steam. Don't create a second payment to speed up the first one.
If the discount has ended, the previous price is not retained due to top-up. You can leave funds for your next purchase, but do not consider them as regular money that can be freely withdrawn to the card. If there is a delay, send support the order number, payment time and a screenshot of the balance without secret data.
