What data cannot be published
Do not send a full code, PIN, readable barcode, or photo of the back of the card in public chat. Even if part of the code is hidden, other details may help the scammer select or confirm the purchase.
For a secure gift, send the code to one recipient in a personal channel and ask to be notified when activation is complete.

What a fraud scheme looks like
FTC warns: The scammer creates a sense of urgency, demands to buy a specific gift card, and then asks to dictate numbers or send a photo. Gift cards are intended for gifts and not for payment of taxes, penalties, technical support or winnings.
You are being rushed and forbidden to consult.
Requires a specific brand and card amount.
They ask you to erase the protective layer and give the code.
They promise to return more money after payment.

Why save the receipt
The receipt confirms the place, date and amount of the purchase. Together with the card itself, the order letter and the error time, it helps support find the transaction and verify activation.
If you have already given the code to a scammer, contact the card issuer immediately and report the fraud. A refund is not guaranteed, but contacting them quickly matters.
When contacting support, hide the code in regular correspondence and transmit it only through an official secure channel if directly necessary.
