01
Check your Apple ID region
Apple associates gift cards with the country or region of purchase. If the card does not match the Apple Account region, it may not be able to be activated.
Before purchasing, open your Apple Account settings and check Country/Region.
Check your Apple ID country.
Select a map of the same region.
Don't rely solely on the language of the device.
02
Manage your subscriptions instead of remembering them after they've been written off
Apple allows you to view active subscriptions, renewal dates, and cancellation options in Subscriptions.
It is useful to check the list after changing the region, purchasing a gift card or connecting family access.
| What to check | Why is it important |
|---|---|
| Renewal date | To avoid unexpected charges |
| Subscription plan | Can be individual, family or annual |
| Apple Account balance | Balance can be used for purchases and renewals |
03
Family Sharing: useful, but not magic
Family Sharing allows you to share purchases, subscriptions, and some Apple services. But access depends on subscription type, family settings, and member region.
Ask to Buy and purchase restrictions are especially important for children's accounts.
Assign organizer.
Check shared subscriptions.
Set up Ask to Buy for children.
04
Secure gift card activation
The card must be activated only in the official Apple interface: App Store, Wallet or Apple Account.
If someone asks to send a card code to pay a fine, delivery or "support", this is a typical scam scenario.
