01
Region is the most common reason
Apple associates gift cards with the country or region of purchase. If your Apple Account was created in another country, the code may not work.
Check Country/Region in your Apple Account settings before purchasing, especially if the account is old or created abroad.
Check the map region and Apple Account.
Do not confuse the device language with the account country.
Do not buy a cheaper card without checking the region.
02
Code, camera and manual input
If the region is the same, check the code symbols: similar letters and numbers can easily be confused when entered manually. Sometimes scanning with a camera in the official Apple interface helps.
Do not enter code on pages from search results if you are not sure about the domain.
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| Code not recognized | Characters, spaces, layout |
| Regional error | Country/Region Apple Account |
| Code already used | Balance history and receipt |
03
Where to look at the balance
After activation, the funds are added to the Apple Account balance. Credit can be used for App Store purchases and some subscriptions, but specific availability may vary by country and Apple policies.
If your balance is not updated immediately, check your purchase history and wait a few minutes before trying again.
04
When to contact support
If the region matches, the code is entered correctly, but the error remains, prepare a receipt, photo of the card or letter with the code, date of purchase and error text.
Do not post the full code in public chats or send it to others.
